25 June 2014 - Mr. Mario Mamon, President of Enchanted Kingdom and the incumbent Chairman of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), led the opening ceremony of the Asian Attractions Expo 2014 held at the China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing on June 18.

Officials of the Philippine Embassy in Beijing attended the opening ceremony in support of Mr. Mamon, who is the first Filipino and the first Asian to be elected to hold the Chairmanship of the IAAPA, an organization which was founded 96 years ago. The IAAPA is the largest international trade association for amusement facilities worldwide, with members from more than 100 countries and regions across the world. It includes major theme parks, resorts and science centers in Europe, Asia, Latin and North America, such as Disneyland, Universal Studios, and Six Flags, among others.

To kick off this year’s Asian Attractions Expo, Mr. Mamon led a lively performance to showcase the singing and dancing prowess of the Filipinos.

IAAPA members from the Philippines were well-represented and actively participated in both the Expo and the related Conference.

The three-day Asian Attractions Expo is the largest trade show in Asia that specializes in showcasing the latest technologies and developments in the amusement park and attractions sector.  Trainings and seminars for industry professionals from across the Asian region were also held at the sidelines of the Expo.
