Philippine Space Agency Attends Aprsaf-29 in Jakarta; Manila to Host Asia-Pacific Regional Space Forum in 2025

JAKARTA 03 October 2023 – A ten-member delegation from the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) led by its highest official, Director General Dr. Joel Joseph S. Marciano Jr. attended the 29th Session of the Asia-Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum (APRSAF-29) from 19 to 22 September 2023 in Jakarta, organized by Indonesia’s Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT), and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).
The APRSAF is the largest space-related conference in the Asia-Pacific Region gathering space agencies, governmental bodies, universities, and research institutes from over forty different countries and promotes increased regional and international cooperation on space activities.
Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia H.E. Gina A. Jamoralin attended the Plenary Session to witness the announcement of the Philippine hosting of the 31st APRSAF meeting in 2025 (APRSAF-31).
Dr. Marciano and his delegation also called on Ambassador Jamoralin at the Philippine Embassy to discuss possible avenues of collaboration between the Philippines and Indonesia in the field of space. END
