BELARUS 09 October 2023 – Philippine Non-Resident Ambassador to Belarus Igor Garlit Bailen presented his original Letter of Credentials to the President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko on 28 September 2023 at the Independence Palace in Minsk. Ambassador Bailen was among the ambassadors from 10 countries who also presented their credentials to Lukashenko: Kazakhstan, Hungary, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Equatorial Guinea, Angola, Uganda, Cambodia, Jordan, and Colombia.

During his message, President Lukashenko welcomed the diplomats and expressed hopes that their diplomatic work will “bring the nations closer and help build truly friendly interstate relations.” He highlighted that the ambassadors are embarking on their mission in a very difficult period during which “a new structure of international relations is emerging and it is steadily moving towards multipolarity”.

On acknowledging Ambassador Bailen during the ceremony, President Lukashenko mentioned that despite the geographical distance, Belarus views the Philippines as an important partner, and that Minsk “is ready to cooperate with Manila in food security and is willing to share its expertise and knowledge in creating agro-industrial holding companies that can both grow and process agricultural products.” END
