PH Ambassador to Cambodia Discusses Defense Cooperation with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense

PHNOM PENH 11 October 2023 – Philippine Ambassador to Cambodia Maria Amelita C. Aquino paid a courtesy call on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Tea Seiha on 04 October 2023.  

They discussed Philippines-Cambodia defense and security relations, noting the existing bilateral mechanisms for their military and defense officials to engage and exchange views on matters of common interest. They cited, in particular, the convening of the First Philippine Army - Royal Cambodian Army Working Group Meeting in June 2023 where the two sides agreed on cooperation activities that would further enhance army-to-army relations.

Ambassador Aquino recognized Cambodia’s active participation in UN peacekeeping missions and lauded the deployment of more women peacekeepers by the Cambodian Government. END
