First-ever Filipino Smørrebrød Workshop Delivers a Taste of the Philippines

Post reports to the Department that it successfully conducted its 1st Pinoy Smørrebrød Workshop on 13 October 2023 at the Embassy Hall with 25 attendees. Participants were comprised of au pairs, members of the household, and Filipino service workers.

Both a cultural (promoting Filipino flavors) and gender-responsive (entrepreneurial and skills-enhancement) project, it introduced the possibility of having Filipino flavors fused into the traditional and famous Danish smørrebrød (open-faced sandwich). Likewise, with smørrebrød being a staple in every Danish household and local restaurants, the project also provided an idea for Filipinos in Denmark wishing to have other sources of income and/or save on future expenses.
