Filipino Culinary Expert and Innovative Filipino-German Cooks Unite to Elevate Adobo at Frankfurt Book Fair
FRANKFURT 23 October 2023 -- In an effort to elevate the Filipino adobo and promote it as a symbol of Philippine gastronomy in Germany, culinary icon and author Chef Claude Tayag collaborated with Filipino- German cooks and adobo enthusiasts during the presentation of his book, “The Ultimate Filipino Adobo: Stories through Ages,” on 19 October at the Philippine Pavilion at the 2023 Frankfurt Buchmesse (FBM).
In his book, Chef Tayag explores adobo’s history and cultural significance as well as celebrates regional expressions of the Filipino adobo. Filipino-German adobo enthusiasts were thrilled to interact with the chef to discuss ways of innovating adobo while preserving the authentic Filipino taste and at the same time appealing to the German and international palates. The Adobo book is part of the collection of culinary books being showcased by NBDB at the FBM.
The Filipino-German adobo enthusiasts, hailing from diverse culinary backgrounds and different parts of Germany presented their versions of adobo such as Ibanag toasted adobo, adobo floss balls, adobong Bisaya, Bacolod tres adobo and Batangueno chicken adobo. END
