PH Ambassador Congratulates Philippine Team’s First Win at 1st World Cup of Under-15 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) in Tokyo, Japan
TOKYO 25 October 2023 – Philippine Ambassador to Japan Mylene J. Garcia-Albano welcomed the Philippine Team to the Embassy on 23 October 2023 and personally expressed her congratulations on the team’s first win at the opening game of the inaugural U-15 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) World Cup against the Czech Republic held on 21 October 2023 at Komazawa Olympic Stadium in Setagaya, Tokyo.
Ambassador Garcia-Albano hailed the 24-member team for their win and expressed her confidence that they can make history in Japan by reaching the finals. The Team’s Manager, Ms. Mi’Ann Reyes-Oblea, expressed her appreciation to the Ambassador for the Embassy’s support and her hope that the Filipino Community in Tokyo will watch their games and cheer for them.
The 1st WBSC World Cup, which is being held with the support of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will be played from 21 to 29 October 2023 in the Komazawa, Setagaya, and Ota Stadiums in Tokyo.
