Don Papa Masterclass Attracts Retailers, F&B in Copenhagen

COPENHAGEN 03 November 2023 - The Philippine Embassy held its first Don Papa Masterclass on 27 October 2023 in partnership with CRT Spirits, the official distributor of Don Papa in Denmark. Forty representatives attended the event from selected supermarket chains, alcohol retail shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants in Copenhagen.

Mr. Aaron Goodall, a Filipino-Australian working with Don Papa (under Diageo), conducted the Masterclass. He presented seven Don Papa varieties in the rum tasting, namely: Single Island, Baroko, MassKara, Rye Cask, Gayuma, Sherry Cask, and the limited Port Cask Quincentennial Edition. The Rye Cask and Gayuma varieties received the most compliments.

Four Filipino canapés, selected to perfectly partner with the rums, were served: Ginataang Manok, Kinilaw na Tuna (using Philippine tuna), Beef Tapa, and Pork Humba.

In addition, the attendees enjoyed the small exhibit by the Embassy, featuring Philippine indigenous fabrics and ornaments, icons, handicrafts, and tourism promotion on the side.

The event aims to expand the availability and sales of Don Papa in Denmark, and to increase awareness of the Philippines to the local society. END
