PH Embassy in London Launches "Dancing with Glory" Exhibit

LONDON 09 November 2023 – In celebration of Museums and Galleries Month 2023, the Philippine Embassy in London launched the art exhibit “Dancing with Glory” at Sentro Rizal London on 18 October 2023.

The exhibit, in collaboration with Singapore-based One East Asia Gallery, featured the works of eleven (11) Filipino artists, namely, Abi Dionisio, Demi Padua, Ezekiel Fajardo, Isko Andrade, Jayson Cortez, Reyna Raymunda, Welbart Slowhands, and the Alarcon Brothers (Ejem, Aldrine, Didier and Luke).

In his welcome remarks, Philippine Ambassador to the UK Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. hailed the artworks on display as an expression of Filipino culture and heritage. He  emphasized that the artists’ brilliance and commitment to the arts bring honor to the Philippines and serve as an inspiration to future generation of artists.

Senate President Juan Miguel F. Zubiri, Senator Christopher Lawrence T. Go, and UK Member of Parliament and Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group-Philippines Rob Roberts graced the event, which was also attended by FCDO South East Asia Department Deputy Head Barrie Peach, officials of ASEAN missions in London, London-based Philippine media representatives and members of the Filipino community. Two of the featured artists, Ms. Abi Dionisio and Welbart Slowhands, and One East Asia Founder and Non-Executive Chairman Daniel Komala were also present at the opening of the exhibit. END

Ambassador Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. said the launch of the exhibit was a celebration of the  Philippines through the eyes and hearts of the featured artists.
