Philippines and Egypt Discuss Ways to Coordinate Gaza Evacuations for Filipinos

CAIRO 13 November 2023 — Philippine Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Eduardo de Vega, accompanied by Philippine Ambassador to Egypt Ezzedin H. Tago, had the opportunity to meet with several officials of Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Undersecretary de Vega met with the cabinet of Assistant Foreign Minister of the Foreign Minister Ambassador Alaa Hegazy to extend Philippine appreciation for Egypt’s assistance during the evacuation of Filipinos from Gaza and Sudan in April.
He later convened with the Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs, Ambassador Ismail Khairat, and his deputy, Ambassador Dahlia Abdel Fattah, to discuss the Embassy’s coordination during evacuations from Gaza and other topics related to the Filipinos in Egypt.
Furthermore, Undersecretary de Vega they met with the Assistant Foreign Minister for Multilateral Affairs and International Security, Ambassador Ehab Badawy, to discuss multilateral cooperation and global migration issues. END
