PH Embassy Promotes the Philippines and ASEAN in Leading Tourism Expo in Greece and the Balkans, “Philoxenia” 2023

Visitors, including tour operators and hospitality students, inquired about basic travel information and tour packages to the Philippines

ATHENS 23 NOVEMBER 2023 – The Philippine Embassy, led by Ambassador Giovanni E. Palec, participated as an exhibitor for this year’s Philoxenia Tourism Exhibition, which was held on 10-12 November 2023 at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition and Congress Center. The Embassy has been part of the annual tourism expo annually since 2015, promoting different tourism destinations in the Philippines. 

Mr. Nikolaos Margaropoulos, Honorary Consul of the Philippines in Thessaloniki, and Ms. Gina Marie Esmaña, Marketing and Administrative Officer of the Department of Tourism in London, joined the Embassy during the three-day tourism promotion activity.

As the only ASEAN country that participated in the 38th Philoxenia, the Embassy also promoted the Southeast Asian region with a dedicated ASEAN corner which displayed brochures and promotional materials from the Embassies of Viet Nam and Thailand in Greece. 

Philoxenia is one of the leading tourism exhibitions in Greece and the Balkan region. This year, the Philoxenia featured Bulgaria as the county of honor and together with parallel exhibitions Hotelia and Real Estate Expo North, attracted around 25,209 visitors. It opened to visitors on 10 November 2023, with Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni as the guest of honor. END
