PH Ambassador, Luxembourg Space Agency Discuss Developments and Potential Cooperation in Space Sector

LUXEMBOURG 30 NOVEMBER 2023 – Philippine Ambassador to Luxembourg Jaime Victor B. Ledda called on Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA) Deputy CEO Dr. Mathias Link and Project Manager for International Affairs Dr. Estelle Badie at the LSA headquarters in Luxembourg on 24 November 2023.

Ambassador Ledda briefed the LSA officials on recent developments in the Philippines on this important sector, including the establishment of the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) in 2019, the PH-EU Subcommittee Meeting on Development Cooperation, the Copernicus project (earth observation to provide information to understand and mitigate the effects of climate change), and the Ambassador’s visit to Luxembourgish company SES Satellites. A potential research cooperation project between Philippine universities and the University of Luxembourg was also explored.

The LSA officials expressed interest to have an initial meeting with their counterparts from PhilSA in the near future. END
