PH Ambassador in Ottawa Discusses Ocean Technology, Fisheries and Skills Development with Nova Scotia

OTTAWA 04 December 2023 – Ambassador Maria Andrelita S. Austria met with Mike McMurray, Executive Director of Nova Scotia Department of Intergovernmental Affairs and discussed cooperation in the areas of ocean technology, fisheries, academic scholarships and skills development on 28 November 2023.

Ambassador Austria congratulated Nova Scotia for the successful visit of Premier Tim Houston to Manila in September 2023. Ambassador Austria commended the government of Nova Scotia for introducing trailblazing measures to streamline the migration-related processes for qualified Filipino skilled workers and healthcare professionals to be able to practice their profession in the province.

Canada’s 2021 Census puts the number of Filipinos in Nova Scotia at 6,615. END
