ASEAN Committee in Manama–Bahrain Partners with Lulu Group for ASEAN Holiday Bazaar

MANAMA 04 December 2023 – The ASEAN Committee in Manama, Bahrain (ACMB). organized an ASEAN Holiday Bazaar in partnership with the Lulu Group on 02 December 2023 at the Lulu Galleria in Zinj, Bahrain. The committee is composed of the Embassies of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand, with the Philippine Embassy spearheading the preparations for the bazaar.
The Guests of Honor at the opening ceremony for the bazaar were Undersecretary for Administrative and Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain Dr. Mohamed Ali Bahzad and Chairman of the ASEAN Bahrain Council (ABC) Shaikh Daij bin Isa Al Khalifa. Also present at the opening ceremony were Mr. Yusuf Lori, Director for Information and Follow-up of the Capital Governorate, and Mr. Mohammed Kaleem, Regional Director of Lulu Bahrain.
In the welcome remarks delivered by Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Anne Jalando-on Louis on behalf of the ACMB, she conveyed the ACMB’s appreciation to the guests of honor, to the Lulu Group, and to all the vendors and visitors to the Bazaar for their support. She noted that it is the first time that the ACMB is holding an ASEAN Holiday Bazaar, which aims to bring and spread the spirit of peace, hope, love and joy during the December festive season.
Featured in the Bazaar were booths that showcased the unique cuisine of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand, as well as products from each of the countries, decorations, and various gift items. END
