15 July 2013 - The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand conducted the 7th Financial Learning Seminar (FLS) and 3rd Kapihan On-Wheels (KOW) for Filipinos in Ratchaburi, Thailand on July 07.
There were more than 70 participants, mostly English teachers.
The FLS was the seventh of its kind to be conducted by the Embassy for Filipinos in Thailand using materials developed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas supplemented with actual case studies on equities, stock, mutual fund, and other investment options available to OFWs in Thailand as well as in the Philippines.
Practical savings and investment tips were also offered by the Embassy to Filipinos with deposit accounts in banks in the Philippines and Thailand. The Embassy also conducted a survey measuring the degree of awareness and knowledge of participants on financial instruments and investments.
During the seminar, the Embassy also discussed initiatives that were undertaken to further improve the delivery of consular services. The Embassy in coordination with the Filipino Community in the Diocese of Ratchaburi organized the FLS and KOW. END
