FUJIAN FOREIGN AFFAIRS DIRECTOR-GENERAL VISITS NEW PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL IN XIAMEN CHANCERY

XIAMEN 22 January 2024– Fujian Foreign Affairs Director-General Lu Lin visited the new Chancery premises of the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen last January 17, 2024 and met with Philippine Consul General Maria Antonia M. Mendoza-Oblena.
The former Chinese Consul General to Davao expressed his felicitations and well wishes, not only for the new location, but also to celebrate the Philippines-China relations.
The two leaders, in a meeting joined by Foreign Affairs Office (FAO) Director for Consular Affairs Mr. Shen Ziling, Xiamen Air leaders and PCG Officials, exchanged notes, information and outlined plans on how to further Philippines-China relations in the future. Both have agreed to develop steps to recapture the pre-pandemic travel traffic between the two countries.
Consul General Oblena stated her appreciation for Fujian Province’s support to the Consulate’s activities and to Philippine businesses located in Fujian Province such as SM, Robinson’s, Eton, Allied Bank, MetroBank, BDO, Bench, PAL, etc.
Director General Li also extended the invitation for the Consulate General and other Philippine officials to attend the inauguration of the ASEAN-China Year of People-to-People Exchanges on February 01-02, 2024. END
