Philippine Consulate in Vancouver Hosts "Human Nature" Art Exhibit by Filipino-Canadian Artist Chito Maravilla

VANCOUVER 24 January 2024— The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, Canada formally opened “Human Nature” exhibit by Chito Maravilla, a Filipino-Canadian artist on 19 January 2024. The exhibit featured works with vivid colors, intricate details, and thought-provoking concept that define human nature.

During her opening remarks, Philippine Consul General Arlene T. Magno stressed the significance of the exhibit in bridging cultural gaps and fostering a deeper understanding of the shared narratives that connects the Filipino-Canadian diaspora.

Mr. Maravilla, on the other hand also expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to showcase “Human Nature” at the Consulate. He also provided insights into the inspiration behind his collection, inviting the attendees to join him on exploring complexities and beauty of human experience.

The exhibit received a warm reception from art enthusiasts, members of the local media and from the Filipino community who were present at the opening, who lauded the Consulate for highlighting the talent and creativity of Filipino artists. The event concluded in the evening, with some refreshments, and an opportunity for guests to engage in conversations with the artist and fellow guests.

“Human Nature” exhibit will remain open to the public until 12 April 2024. END
