HONOLULU 13 February 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General officially launched the 2024 Very Important Pinoy (VIP) Tour at its Chancery last February 9.  Attendees of the event included owners and representatives of tour operators and travel agencies and members of the Filipino community.

In his welcome remarks, Consul General Emil Fernandez thanked the attendees for their support to the VIP Tour, underscoring that Hawaii has consistently had the biggest delegation for the yearly activity.  From July 21 to 30, participants will have the opportunity to visit all the major island groups in the Philippines, with Manila in Luzon, Bacolod in the Visayas and Cagayan de Oro in Mindanao included in the itinerary.  He expressed hope that more participants from the younger generation would consider joining the tour this year.

In a video message, Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Manuel Romualdez invited the public to take part in the VIP Tour to experience “a unique and immersive experience in the cultural tapestry of the Philippines.”

Mr. Jose C. Clemente, President of Rajah Tours, who joined the launch virtually via Zoom, discussed the tour itinerary and logistical arrangements for the tour, including transportation and accommodation.

Ms. Soledad Solleza, Philippine Airlines (PAL) Honolulu Area Manager, presented the packages offered by PAL, inclusive of airfare and all other logistics.

A question and answer capped the launch, giving attendees the opportunity to clarify concerns and suggest improvements for the conduct of the tour.
