PH Embassy in Kuwait Promotes PH Culture at People's World Forum

KUWAIT 19 February 2024 – In line with the celebration of the 2024 National Arts Month (NAM) this February, the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait participated in a cultural exhibition entitled People’s World Forum organized by Kuwait University, in collaboration with Ta!k Cultural Center, held at the Sabah Al Salem University on 10 February 2024.
The Embassy highlighted Filipino artistry through cultural performances by Mr. Charvin Molaco and Kundiman singer, Mr. Jumel Carvajal and sons, traditional martial arts demonstration by MMA Balintawak Eskrima, art installation that portrayed Sorbetes by Visual Artist Roman Romano, display of native handicrafts, traditional clothing, tourism brochures and Filipino candies. Moreover, the Philippines was represented by Ms. Yasmeen Deeb-Akasha in a cooking workshop that showcased the tasty Chicken Adobo.
Filipino food samples such as Pichi-pichi, Kutsinta, Chicken Adobo, and Sago’t Gulaman in bitesize form made by Chef Beth Osorio, Chef Mhyla Ruanes and Chef Lorna Uri were served for public consumption. Selecta Ice cream which was imported from the Philippines was also sampled in the Pinoy Sorbetes corner. Additionally, an LED screen stationed at the Philippine booth played an array of tourism advertisements from the Department of Tourism and the National Artist Month MTV; Ani ng Sining.
People’s World Forum was participated by 46 Embassies from all over the world including Kenya, Yemen, Guinea, UAE, France and Cambodia as well as individual retailers that showcased distinct local fragrances, native fruits from their countries, and jewelers. END
