PH Ambassador Meets Lebanese Minister of Culture, Donates Philippine publications to Lebanese National Library

BEIRUT 04 March 2024 – Philippine Ambassador Raymond R. Balatbat met with Lebanese Minister of Culture Mohammad Wissam Al-Mortada on 28 February 2024 at the Lebanese National Library where the Minister holds office. The visit was marked by the donation of various Philippine books and publications to the Lebanese National Library and to discuss possible cultural events involving the participation of the Philippine Embassy and other potential partnerships between the Philippines and Lebanon.

Ambassador Balatbat and Minister Al-Mortada discussed the Embassy’s cultural activities during the previous years where the Embassy was able to showcase the Philippine culture and heritage by working together with various Lebanese academic and cultural institutions. In turn, possible future collaborations were explored between the Embassy and the Ministry. The Ambassador expressed his gratitude and support for the Minister’s invitation to participate in various cultural projects that the Ministry of Culture is currently organizing. END
