PH Ambassador Makes Farewell Calls on Cambodian King and Prime Minister

PHNOM PENH 04 March 2024 – On 23 February 2024, Philippine Ambassador Aquino expressed appreciation for the grant of Royal Audience of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni to formally convey her farewell as she ends her tour of duty in Cambodia by the end of the month. The Ambassador conveyed her gratitude for the warm welcome and support of the Government and people of Cambodia during her three-year stay in the country. His MajestyMajesty King Norodom Sihamoni expressed hope on the continued strengthening of Philippine-Cambodia diplomatic relations.

During the call on H.E. Prime Minister Hun Manet, Ambassador Aquino conveyed appreciation for the Cambodian government’s support and cooperation during her tenure in Cambodia. The Ambassador lauded the Cambodian government’s efforts to address the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the successful Chairmanship of the ASEAN Summits and related meetings in 2022, the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) as well as the 12th ASEAN Para Games in 2023.

Both sides noted the progress in various aspects of Philippines-Cambodia bilateral relations, such as in trade, people-to-people exchanges, tourism, and defense. Ambassador Aquino expressed appreciation for a deeply fulfilling diplomatic mission in Cambodia. Prime Minister Hun Manet. END
