TEHRAN 08 March 2024 – The Philippine Embassy in Tehran conducted a book donation activity on 28 February 2024 at the Resaneh Cultural Center in celebration of the 60th anniversary of Philippines-Iran bilateral relations. The event was spearheaded by Ambassador Roberto G. Manalo in collaboration with the Tehran Municipality.

The Embassy donated 50 copies of the children's book Ang Mabait na Kalabaw (The Very Good Carabao) by Philippine National Artist Virgilio S. Almario, translated into the Persian language. The donated books will be distributed to libraries and cultural centers across Tehran, with the Resaneh Cultural Center serving as the primary hub for their dissemination.

"Through this book donation, we aim to share a piece of Filipino culture and literature with our Iranian friends," said Ambassador Roberto G. Manalo. "By making these works accessible in the local language, we hope to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation between our nations," he further added.

Present at the event were Mr. Hamidreza Gholamzadeh, Deputy for International Affairs at the Tehran Municipality, and Mr. Mehdi Shakibayi, Head of the Resaneh Cultural Center. Their attendance underscored the strong commitment to nurturing cultural ties and diplomatic relations between the two countries.

"This book donation exemplifies the enduring friendship between the Philippines and Iran," remarked Mr. Gholamzadeh. "Through such initiatives, we can build bridges of understanding and create opportunities for mutual learning and respect," he added.
