02 July 2014 - Dr. Nassef Manabilang Adiong was awarded as one of the 10 Outstanding PhD students in Turkey for 2014 during the International Students Graduation Ceremony held on June 11 in Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) Congresium. The award was conferred by Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister Professor Dr. Emrullah Işler, who represented Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the event.
The ceremony was attended by Philippine Ambassador to Turkey Maria Rowena Mendoza Sanchez, Philippine Embassy translator and political assistant Efe Acunaz, Filipino community member Marigen Zaimoglu, and some close friends of the graduate awardee.
Mr. Adiong, who hails from Marawi City, has authored numerous books on International Relations centering on the “politics of Islam” with interests in the concepts of nation-state and civilization. He is one of the founders of International Relations and Islamic Studies Research Cohort (Co-IRIS). END
