Philippines Promoted as Business Destination at
Torino-ASEAN Business Day in Torino, Italy

ROME 12 March 2024 – Philippine Ambassador to Italy Neal Imperial joined the ASEAN Committee in Rome (ACR) at the third edition of the “TOASEAN” (Torino-ASEAN) Business Day at the Valentino Castle in Torino last 29 February 2024. The event aimed to raise awareness about ASEAN and its member states as an investment destination.
The Philippines, through Trade Counselor Rosa Katrina Banzon, gave a business presentation to around 80 Italian businessmen who attended the event from various sectors such as renewable energy, food production and packaging, chemical, ICT, textile and clothing, and design. Ms. Banzon’s presentation focused on priority investment sectors in the PH such as IT-Business Process Management (IT-BPM), high-tech agriculture, and semiconductor assembly. She also highlighted the competitive advantages of the Philippines, such as the young and highly-skilled workforce, tax and other incentives. She encouraged the attendees to set up businesses in the Philippines.
The third edition of the TOASEAN Business Day was opened by key officials of Turin, including the Mayor of Turin, Hon. Stefano Lo Russo, Mr. Dario Gallina, President of the Torino Chamber of Commerce, and Ms. Alessandra Schiavo, Deputy Director General for Asia and Oceania of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The event was jointly organized by the Torino Chamber of Commerce and the University of Turin (Department of Cultures, Politics and Society), together with the Torino World Affairs (T.wai). The first edition of the TOASEAN Business Days took place on 17-18 June 2019, while its second edition was held on 29 November 2021. END
