PH Presidential Adviser Urges Italian Businessmen to Look at Investment Opportunities in the Philippines

MILAN 13 March 2024 – Presidential Adviser Dennis Anthony Uy met with officials of the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Southeast Asia (ICCSEA) on 08 March 2024 in Milan to urge them to look into possible investment opportunities in the Philippines.

The meeting between Mr. Uy, who is the Presidential Adviser on Digital Transformation and a member of the Presidential Private Sector Advisory Council, and ICCSEA President Riccardo Rocca and Director for Information Technology Dario Barisoni was arranged by the Philippine Consulate General in Milan.

During their meeting, Mr. Uy, who is also Special Envoy of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to the Republic of Korea, shared with the ICCSEA officials the many positive economic developments in the Philippines that he said Italian companies should take advantage of.

The founder and Chief Executive Officer of Converge ICT Solutions said Italian companies could invest in information technology, infrastructure, transportation, defense, telecommunications, power generation, and many others.

Mr. Uy, who is also a director of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), also encouraged the ICCSEA to organize a business mission to the Philippines.

Mr. Uy earlier had a telephone conversation with President Francesco Buzzella of the National Federation of the Chemical Industry of Italy and of the Federation of Industry of Lombardy.

In their conversation, Mr. Uy also invited President Buzzella to take a second look at the Philippines and explore possible investment opportunities in the country.

Also present during the meeting were Consul General Elmer G. Cato, Consul Norman Padalhin, and President Noel Carillo of the Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Italy. END
