Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary, Australian Deputy Prime Minister sign MOU on Enhanced Maritime Cooperation

CANBERRA 18 March 2024 – Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Richard Marles MP and Philippines’ Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique Manalo signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Enhanced Maritime Cooperation of the Philippines and Australia on 28 February 2024 at the Australian Parliament. The signing ceremony took place in the margins of the Guest of Government visit of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr to Canberra on 28 to 29 February 2024. As maritime democracies, the Philippines and Australia are committed to upholding the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, preserving regional peace and stability and ensuring the protection of marine resources.
