DFA Repatriates Filipina Breast Cancer Patient in Russia

MOSCOW 18 March 2024 - The Department of Foreign Affairs through the Philippine Embassy in Moscow, Russian Federation, facilitated the repatriation of an undocumented 56-year-old Filipina in Moscow, who was diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer. The overseas worker arrived in the Philippines and was reunited with her family on 12 March 2024.

All expenses related to her repatriation, including airfare, medical escort, and all documents and clearances, were arranged by the Philippine Embassy in Moscow and funded through the ATN Fund. The Embassy also connected the Filipina to a medical organization in Manila which will provide free medical assistance, including her mastectomy operation, medicines, and laboratory tests at the hospital.
