HONG KONG 19 March 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong showed support to the 13 Philippine production companies that promoted the Philippine film industry at the Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART). FILMART was held from 11 to 14 March 2024 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).
The Philippine Pavilion is comprised of film entities under the aegis of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), such as ABS-CBN Corporation, ADCC Film Corporation, Black Cap Pictures, Inc., Feast Foundation, Fire & Ice Media and Production, Inc., Regal Entertainment, Inc., Quantum Films, RR Entertainment Production, Studio Viva, and Go Asia Entertainment. The Philippine film companies aim to connect with international counterparts for co-production on projects and film distribution, as well as to seek financing and attract location shooting.
Since 2017, FDCP has supported over 200 film companies and 50 producers in showcasing the Philippines and its content to film markets worldwide. FDCP, through its FilmPhilippines Office (FPO), is currently offering up to 25% incentive through its Film Location Incentive Program (FLIP) to international filmmakers who will choose the Philippines for co-production in a project or as its location for their film.
GMA Network, Inc. and Viva Communications likewise participated in FILMART through separate booths where they marketed their respective entertainment products, such as television series and films.
The FILMART is organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). It is considered as Asia’s largest film and entertainment content marketplace. This year’s event welcomed over 750 exhibitors from more than 25 countries and regions, featuring a variety of cross-media and cross-genre content. END
