Filipino Delicacies Featured at ASEAN Ramadan Bazaar in Bahrain

MANAMA 26 March 2024 – The ASEAN Committee in Manama, Bahrain (ACMB), composed of the five ASEAN Missions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, namely, the Embassies of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand, organized an ASEAN Ramadan Bazaar in partnership with the Lulu Group, one of the leading supermarkets in Bahrain, and the ASEAN Bahrain Council on 22 March 2024 at the Ramli Mall in A’ali, Kingdom of Bahrain. 

 

H.E. Shaikh Daij Bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the ASEAN Bahrain Council, was Guest of Honor and led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, together with the Heads of the ASEAN Missions of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand in Bahrain and officials of the Lulu Group.

Filipino food such as empanada, palabok, turon, fresh lumpia, arroz caldo, pan de sal, taho, and various kinds of kakanin and native sweets were featured at the Philippine booths. The participating Filipino outlets included Shai’s Restaurant, Grabelicious Donuts, and home-based pop-up kitchen Gold for Crumbs. Non-food products such as native bags and various arts and crafts items were featured in the booth of Artful. 

 

A total of 15 booths showcased the unique cuisine of the Philippines, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand at this year’s ASEAN Ramadan Bazaar in the Kingdom of Bahrain. END
