MOSCOW 26 March 2024 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) through the Philippine Embassy in Moscow, Russian Federation, facilitated the repatriation of undocumented Filipino families. They arrived in the Philippines on 23 March 2024.

One Filipina and her four-year old child entered Russia in 2012 and had a job as a household service worker. She was not able to renew her visa when it expired during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, Filipino spouses worked without proper migration documents in Moscow for about five (5) years. They have a three-year-old son born in Russia.

The Embassy assisted the families in securing all necessary immigration documents. Airfare expenses for their repatriation were paid through the ATN Fund. END
