Philippine Embassy in London Holds Legal Clinic: “Isangguni kay Attorney”

LONDON 05 April 2024 – The Philippine Embassy in London held a Legal Clinic “Isangguni kay Attorney,” on 20 March as part of its celebration of 2024 National Women’s Month.
Several UK-based Filipino-British solicitors and Filipino lawyers provided free legal advice during the legal clinic held at the Sentro Rizal London, including Solicitor Danna Quinto, Barrister Catherine Dy, and Solicitor Crystal Dias, while the Filipino lawyers, who are currently Chevening scholars in the UK were Atty. Charles Fredricksson de Belen, Atty. Napoleon L. Gonzales III, and Atty. Zara Marie Dy.
The concerns of those who availed themselves of the free legal advice included immigration matters (sponsorship of family members who wish to come to the UK, application for “indefinite leave to remain” status, etc.); property matters (acquisition of property in PH, transfer of ownership, property disputes, etc.); estate matters (wills, inheritance, etc.); annulment of marriage, recognition of foreign divorce, adoption and other legal concerns.
