Hao chi, Sarap! Whets Appetites for Filipino Food in Chongqing
CHONGQING, 10 April 2024 – In celebration of Filipino Food Month 2024, the Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing will be treating its website visitors and social media followers to a series of live-action videos by its personnel who will showcase a variety of Filipino comfort food.
Combining the Chinese and Filipino words for delicious, an episode of the four-part Hao chi, Sarap! will be published by the Consulate every Wednesday throughout April. Each short-form video will present easy ways to prepare popular Filipino dishes and treats.
The series kicks off today with the irresistible sinigang na baboy, a traditional Filipino sour soup, presented by Timothy Wong. On 17 April 2024, the series will pair two comfort dishes, adobo and sinangag na kanin, in separate presentations by Yvonne Mofar and Arlene Pascasio, respectively. The series will culminate on 24 April 2024 with delectable family favorites, the pan de sal and leche flan. Ricky Bolanio and the tandem of Dorotea Apostol and Vivian Wang will walk viewers through the preparation of these treats, offering a sweet conclusion to the series.

The Filipino Food Month is observed annually in April pursuant to Proclamation No. 469, s. 2018 to pay homage to Philippine culinary tradition as an essential element of Filipino cultural heritage. END
