Atehens DLSU CHoir wins awards in Greece1

16 July 2013- The De La Salle University (DLSU) Chorale won the Gold Medal and First Prize under the Chamber Choir Category in the International Choir Festival “Antonio Vivaldi” held from June 27 to July 01 at Karpenissi, Greece.

The group also won the Gold Medal and First Prize under the Chamber Choir Category in the “International Choral Competition of Sacred Music” held from July 04 to 07 in Preveza, Greece.

The DLSU Chorale headed by its musical director, Professor Rodolfo F. Delarmente, called on Philippine Ambassador to Greece Merynardo LB. Montealegre in Athens on July 11 at the Philippine Embassy in Athens.

The group is composed of 17 student members of the DLSU. During the call, the DLSU Choir serenaded the Embassy officials with folk, ethnic and popular songs.

The DLSU Chorale performed for the members of the Filipino community at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. They also performed during the Greek mass at the St. Denis Roman Catholic Church on July 12. Both performances were coordinated by the members of the Filipino community. END
