Philippine Consulate General, Filipino-American Business Community Entice More Investors from Los Angeles to the Philippines
LOS ANGELES 30 April 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles, through the Philippine Trade and Investments Center, and the Asian Consulting Group (ACG) provided more than 200 business owners, investors and other interested participants with the latest information focusing on business and investment opportunities in the Philippines at the recent Investment and Tax Briefing and Business Mixer held in Cerritos City on 19 April 2024.
Trade Commissioner Eric Elnar started off with a presentation on the advantages of investing in the Philippines, including an enumeration of several recent laws passed to attract investments into the country and their key provisions.
Mr. Raymond Abrea, Senior Tax Advisor and Chairman of the ACG, shared his insights into navigating the local business landscape, covering tax and policy reforms, the ease of doing business and government incentives for foreign investors in the Philippines, as well as practical advice on establishing operations in the country.
The event was a collaborative effort between the Consulate General and several organizations, including the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce Cerritos (FAC3), the Coalition of Filipino-American Chambers of Commerce (COFACC), National Federation of Filipino American Associations Greater Los Angeles Region (NaFFAA), Cerritos City Council, the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce Greater Los Angeles (FACCGLA) and the Asian Consulting Group (ACG).
After the presentations, representatives from the Filipino-American business community participated in a panel discussion to discuss issues and concerns, including the importance of investing back in the Philippines.
The event closed with a valedictory speech from Philippine Consul General to Los Angeles Edgar B. Badajos, who took the opportunity to thank the Filipino-American business community for their support to the Consulate General and its programs.
