Hong Kong Electronics Fair Features World-Class Products Made in PH

HONG KONG 02 May 2024 — Philippine-based company Euro-CB Philippines participated as an exhibitor in the recently-held 20th Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) organized by the Hong Kong Trade and Development Council (HKTDC) on 18 April 2024.
This year’s Hong Kong Electronics Fair was held from 13 to 16 April 2024 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It featured more than 1,960 exhibitors from 12 countries showcasing the latest world-class innovation and technology in the field of electronics.
Euro-CB Philippines is a manufacturer of headphones, earphones, mobile phone accessories, and speakers under the SuperTooth brand. It was established in 1989 in the Cebu province, with a factory located inside the Mactan Export Processing Zone, just one mile away from the Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
During the Fair, Euro-CB showcased its latest Bluetooth® devices, particularly "Sleddo,” a hands-free kit for Skiers which may be used with ski gloves, and "Roamee,” a hands-free kit for bikers that allows instant installation on a bike helmet.
There are currently 419 Special Economic Zones in the Philippines operating across five (5) industries, which zones are administered by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA). These include 78 Manufacturing Economic Zones, 297 Information Technology Parks/Centers, 17 Tourism Export Enterprises, 24 Agro-Industrial Economic Zones and 3 Medical Tourism Parks/Centers.
The Manufacturing Economic Zones are specially designed to attract foreign direct investments in manufacturing, promote technology transfer, and enhance the competitiveness of the Philippine manufacturing sector. These are achieved through the grant of fiscal and non-fiscal incentives and other forms of facilitation to export- oriented manufacturing and service facilities located inside these zones. In 2023, the
electronic products commodity group remained to be the Philippines’ top exports with total earnings of USD 41.91 billion, representing 56.9% of the country’s total exports.
Fiscal incentives granted to PEZA-registered enterprises include 1) Income Tax Holidays (ITH) of up to seven (7) years, depending on the location and type of industry, 2) A 5% Special Corporate Income Tax (SCIT) or Enhanced Deductions for 10 years, 3) Tax-and-duty-free importation of capital equipment, raw materials, spare parts or accessories, 4) VAT exemption on importation and VAT zero-rating on local purchases for goods and services directly or exclusively used in the registered project, 5) Domestic sales allowance of up to 30% of total sales, 6) Exemption from payment of local government taxes and fees for the period of availment of the SCIT incentive.
Non-fiscal incentives, on the other hand, include 1) Special non-immigrant visa with multiple entry privileges for foreign investors and their immediate family members, 2) Employment of foreign nationals in supervisory, technical or advisory positions, and 3) Long-term land lease of up to 75 years
