MUSCAT 03 March 2024 – The Philippine Embassy in the Sultanate of Oman facilitated the participation of the Philippine School in Oman (PSO) in the 2024 Sentro Rizal Masterclass for Philippine Folk Dance via Zoom, on 16, 23, and 30 April 2024.

Two teachers and ten students of various nationalities of the PSO participated in the event which culminated in the presentation of their preferred dance, the Bagobo. The participants donned the traditional Bagobo traditional clothing and applied the skills they learned throughout the training sessions.

Philippine Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, H.E. Raul S. Hernandez, delivered the closing remarks for the Program, extending his gratitude and appreciation to our partners, namely the NCCA, Bayanihan, the National Dance Company of the Philippines, and all the participants.

During the closing event, Director Ferdinand “Bong” Jose provided feedback to all the Bagobo dancers from the PSO, highlighting the unique expression of Philippine folk dance, and its immense value in promoting the Filipino culture.

The Embassy commends this initiative and appreciates both the knowledge and skills imparted by Bayanihan to all the participants which will ultimately redound to the proliferation of our Filipino culture, and shall likewise continue its initiatives towards this end. END
