ASEAN Committee in Islamabad Celebrates Inaugural ASEAN Bicycle Day with Success

ISLAMABAD 08 May 204 – The ASEAN Committee in Islamabad (ACI) organized the first-ever ASEAN Bicycle Day in Islamabad. The event, held on April 20, 2024, within the Diplomatic Enclave, marked a moment filled with unity, joy, and camaraderie among ASEAN member countries and the Diplomatic Corps in Islamabad.
Over two hundred riders, comprising ASEAN Embassy personnel, their families, avid bicycle enthusiasts and other guests were united in celebration. The day commenced at the grounds of the Philippine Embassy, with a photo opportunity with all the participants.
Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan Maria Agnes M. Cervantes expressed her profound appreciation to all participants, highlighting the ASEAN Bicycle Day as a momentous opportunity to strengthen bonds within the Diplomatic Corps in Islamabad. Through the shared joy of cycling, the ACI endeavors to deepen understanding and promote cultural exchange among member nations, fostering a spirit of unity and collaboration.
As cyclists finished the course, the festivities continued at the Philippine Embassy grounds, where participants gathered to enjoy an array of Philippine snacks, including the beloved Sago't Gulaman (A traditional Filipino Tapioca Pearl Drink).
The resounding success of the inaugural ASEAN Bicycle Day underscores the ACI's unwavering commitment to promoting harmony, unity, and cultural appreciation within the vibrant diplomatic community of Islamabad. Building upon this momentum, the ACI will continue to serve as a catalyst for collaboration and cooperation among ASEAN member countries in Pakistan's capital. Led by Her Excellency Maria Agnes M.
