PH Embassy in Brunei Conducts Prison Visits to Commemorate Hari Raya

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN 13 May 2024 – In line with the Philippine Government’s continuing commitment to provide assistance to all Filipino nationals abroad, officials of the Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam led by Ambassador Marian Jocelyn R. Tirol-Ignacio visited Filipino inmates at two prison facilities on 07 May 2024 in conjunction with the Sultanate’s Hari Raya celebrations, or the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. 

Embassy officials, together with officers from Migrant Workers Office (MWO) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), brought food for the inmates and provided them with personal care items for their use in the prison. 

The Hari Raya prison visits are conducted annually on top of the regular prison visits made by the Embassy and attached agency officials, to detained Filipino nationals in Brunei. END
