PH Ambassador Co-Leads Unveiling of Blue Book on Successful ASEAN-EU Strategic Partnership

JAKARTA 14 May 2024 – Philippine Ambassador and Permanent Representative Hjayceelyn M. Quintana, in her capacity as Country Coordinator for ASEAN-EU (European Union) Dialogue Relations, joined EU Ambassador to ASEAN Sujiro Seam and the Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, in unveiling the ASEAN-EU Blue Book 2024-2025 at formal ceremonies held at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta on 08 May 2024. The event was attended by Ambassadors of ASEAN and EU based in Jakarta as well as stakeholders of ASEAN-EU relations.
In her remarks, Ambassador Quintana noted that the Blue Book showcases the wide array of cooperation programs between ASEAN and the EU, and cited programs in the fields of education, migration, and green and sustainable development. She underscored the tangible impact of cooperation between the two regional organizations on various sectors of society, which contribute to high levels of trust among ASEAN citizens towards the EU.
Ambassador Quintana encouraged ASEAN and EU partners to implement more activities and projects to further enhance the strategic partnership between two of the world’s most advanced and successful regional organizations. She said that the close collaboration ASEAN and the EU could serve as a model of partnership for other groupings around the world, which could contribute to the promotion of international peace, stability and prosperity.
