ASEAN Committee in Athens Turns Over Proceeds from 2nd ASEAN Plus Bazaar to Friends of the Child Charity Association
The ASEAN Committee in Athens (ACAT) officially turns over the donation proceeds from the 2nd ASEAN Plus Bazaar to the Friends of the Child (FOC) Charity Association.
ATHENS 17 May 2024 – The ASEAN Committee in Athens (ACAT) officially turned over the donation proceeds from the 2nd ASEAN Plus Bazaar to the Friends of the Child (FOC) Charity Association during a brief ceremony hosted by the Philippine Embassy on 13 May 2024.
Philippine Ambassador Giovanni E. Palec, current Chair of the ACAT, led the turnover ceremony together with Thai Ambassador Sathana Kashemsanta Na Ayudhya, Vietnamese Ambassador Le Hong Truong and Indonesian Ambassador Bebeb A.K. Nugraha Djundjunan. Mrs. Yianna Panagiotidou, FOC President, received the donation on behalf of the charity association.
The funds donated were raised from the 2nd ASEAN Plus Bazaar held on 20-21 April 2024 at the Hellenic Foundation for Culture. The Bazaar was organized by the ACAT composed of the Embassies of the Philippines, Thailand, Viet Nam, and Indonesia, in cooperation with the FOC Charity Association. This year, the Embassies of Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Honorary Consulate of Malaysia, and the recently established Hellenic-ASEAN Business Council (HABC) also participated in the event.
The Friends of the Child Charity Association is a non-profit organization founded in 1987, which aims to support and secure the required monthly needs for children whose families face financial and social problems.
