JEDDAH 27 May 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah (Jeddah PCG) led by Consul General Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian, Vice-Consul Jeremiah P. Attento, and Vice-Consul Jules Patrick A. Aguila, along with the augmentation team from Riyadh PE led by Chargé d’Affaires Rommel A. Romato, led the Philippine Missions in Saudi Arabia in welcoming the Filipino pilgrims for Hajj 2024.

They were joined by the Office of Hajj Attaché Officer-in-Charge Omar Mandia and the NCMF Madinah Team in welcoming the pilgrims.

No major issues plagued the arrival of the initial Filipino pilgrims in Madinah. The Philippine Missions in Saudi Arabia expects 5,100 pilgrims to participate in this year’s Hajj. The Hajj is an annual pilgrimage to Makkah and Madinah, the two holiest cities for Muslims, making it a significant component of the bilateral relations between the Philippines and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
