PH Mission in Jeddah Welcomes Pilgrims for Hajj 2024

RIYADH 31 May 2024 – The joint teams of the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh and the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by Chargé d’Affaires Rommel A. Romato, as well as members of the National Commission of Muslim Filipinos (NCMF), welcomed Filipino pilgrims to Hajj Season 2024 at the Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah.
The first batch of 150 pilgrims arrived in Madinah via Oman Air flight WY677. Around 5,100 pilgrims are expected to arrive in the Kingdom to perform the annual Hall pilgrimage. The Philippine Embassy and Consulate General aims to assist Filipino pilgrims from their arrival in Madinah, throughout the Hajj pilgrimage in Makkah, and until their departure back to the Philippines via Jeddah.
Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam, is a sacred pilgrimage and a journey of faith and devotion required of every Muslim at least once in their lifetime. Each year, the holy city of Makkah in Saudi Arabia welcomes pilgrims worldwide. END
