Largest Filipino-Designed Solar Power Light Bulb Display Sets Guinness World Record for UAE

ABU DHABI 31 May 2024 – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) lit the world’s largest solar power light bulb display, with 3,000 lanterns made by students from Deira International School and Universal American School of Dubai on 23 May 2024.
The lanterns, whose design was brought to the UAE by Mr. Illac Diaz, Filipino national, and founder and global director of Liter of Light, were arranged in the shape of a ghaf tree, the national tree of the UAE.
Guinness World Record Representative presented the certificate for the newly-set world record to the officials of Liter of Light and Al-Futtaim Education Foundation, Al-Futtaim Group, which has pledged the 3,000 lanterns to be donated to Agusan Marsh in the Philippines.
Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Alfonso A. Ver, accompanied by Consul General Marford M. Angeles, and other officials from the Embassy and Consulate joined in celebrating the success of the event. END
