Filipina Fighters Crowned New Champions by Women’s International Boxing Association

BANGKOK 07 June 2024 – The Women’s International Boxing Association (WIBA) crowned two outstanding Filipina fighters on 30 May 2024, at Spaceplus Bangkok, Thailand. Ms. Norj Guro clinched the WIBA Atomweight Championship title via unanimous decision, while Ms. Carleans Rivas emerged as the new WIBA Light Flyweight Champion via knockout 

The champions were accompanied by Promoter Mr. Brico Santig, Manager Mr. Garry Conolly, and Mr. Troy Covavz from VSG Promotions, highlighting the significant support network behind these athletes’ success.

The champions paid a visit to the Philippine Embassy on Friday, 31 May 2024 and called on Ambassador Millicent Cruz Paredes. This visit was an opportunity to acknowledge the pride and recognition these athletes bring to the home country. END
