Thammasat University’s Filipino Film Screening Celebrates National Heritage Month

BANGKOK 07 June 2024 – The Filipino historical film GOMBURZA was featured in the Filipino Film Screening 2024 in Thammasat University on 05 June 2024, marking the celebration of the Philippine National Heritage Month.

The theater was filled with students of the Contemporary Philippines and Hispanic Legacy (SP 379) class, faculty and other students of the university who wanted to watch the film. 

Attendees of the film showing were treated to Makado chips generously provided by Thai Liwayway Food Industries Co., Ltd. a Philippine company in Thailand engaged in manufacturing various items.

As an additional dimension to their experience of Philippine heritage, the Philippine Studies Program students also enjoyed various traditional Filipino sweets like sylvanas, pili nuts, dried Cebu mangoes and mazapan de pili. 

The event was organized by Thammasat University’s Philippine Studies Program Coordinator, Dr. Piemsak Hongjamrassilp in coordination with Third Secretary and Vice Consul Susan Phoebe Sabado, and Cultural Attaché Evonne Avril Manayao of the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok. END
