OSLO 10 June 2024 – Sixty eight Filipinos were part of the 72 graduates of Oslo Metropolitan University’s (Oslo Met) Complementary Study Program for Nursing, who were feted in a graduation ceremony held on 6 June 2024 at the Oslo Rådhus (City Hall).
This is by far the biggest batch of Filipino nurses who successfully finished the Program. Filipino nurse Darwin Cadiz also delivered the commencement speech on behalf of the graduates.
Philippine Ambassador to Norway Enrico T. Fos was present during the ceremony and personally congratulated each Filipino nurse who finished the course for their achievement, especially that they need to undergo additional education to be able to practice their profession in Norway.
Completion of complementary study on theoretical and practical courses in nursing is required for nursing graduates from countries outside the European Union and the European Economic Area, like the Philippines, in order to be authorized to work as nurses in Norway.
Ambassador Fos also thanked the Oslo Met officials and the Oslo City government for agreeing with the Embassy to increase the available slots and supporting the Program, which now opened opportunities for more Filipino nursing graduates to be authorized to work as nurses in Norway. END
