Filipino Conjoined Twin Sisters Successfully Separated in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH 11 June 2024 – Filipino conjoined twin sisters Ayeesha and Akhizah Yusoph were successfully separated on 06 June 2024 through surgery at King Abdullah Specialist Children's Hospital in King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The surgical procedure was conducted by the esteemed pediatric surgeon Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah and was facilitated under the auspices of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), with Dr. Al Rabeaah serving as its supervisor general. Ayeesha and Akhizah arrived in Riyadh on 05 May 2024 and subsequently underwent a comprehensive assessment prior to their scheduled separation surgery.
This humanitarian endeavor is the second case of conjoined Filipino twins to undergo a separation procedure in Saudi Arabia as part of the Saudi Conjoined Twins Separation Program, which, since 1990, has been facilitating the successful separation of over 130 children from 25 different countries.
