NEW DELHI 19 June 2024 – Reefer Express Line Filipinas Inc. is looking at expanding its shipping service routes between the Philippines and the Middle East, with a stopover in India. If realized, the service is seen to further drive up burgeoning trade between the two countries.

Reefer Express Line Filipinas started operations on 18 July 2019, initially serving the Brunei Darussalam–Indonesia–Malaysia–Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA), and later expanding to a monthly General Santos City-U.S. service.

In India, its officials’ search for prospective partnerships took them to Mumbai and New Delhi. They closed their itinerary with a courtesy call on Philippine Ambassador to India Josel F. Ignacio on June 3.

Led by Logistics Manager Jerson Caluba, the visiting executives briefed the Ambassador and his team on the company’s India plans. Ambassador Ignacio lauded and encouraged the move.

The call saw a vigorous exchange of ideas. Ambassador Ignacio and his team -- Third Secretary and Vice Consul Mark Anthony P. Dizon, Commercial Counsellor Eugenio C. Elevado Jr., and Economic Assistant Ethel Jane Molina – offered insights as to how Reefer Express Line Inc. could align its business objectives with Philippine trade and product promotion goals vis-à-vis India.

"Reefer's decision to venture into the Indian market is commendable and holds great promise for strengthening two-way trade between the Philippines and India”, said Ambassador Ignacio.

Ambassador Ignacio assured the Reefer team of the Philippine Country Team's readiness to provide assistance and support on their Indian venture. END
