Italian Cultural Institute in Denmark Features Renowned Filipino Pianist, Mr. Raul M. Sunico

COPENHAGEN 19 June 2024 – The Philippine Embassy in Denmark, in partnership with the Italian Cultural Institute in Denmark, featured renowned Filipino pianist, Mr. Raul M. Sunico, in a piano concerto on 10 June 2024. A hundred diplomats, Danes, Filipinos, and members of the local society attended the successful piano concert.

Mr. Sunico serenaded the guests with 14 classical and Philippine pieces, through the following repertoire:

▪   Prelude in C-sharp minor op. 3 no. 2  -  S. Rachmaninoff

▪   Etude in E, op. 10 no. 3  -  F. Chopin   

▪   Waltz in C-sharp minor, op. 64 no. 2  -  F. Chopin

▪   Polonaise in A-flat, op. 53  -  F. Chopin

▪   Arabesque no. 1  -  C. Debussy

▪   La Plus que Lente  -  C. Debussy

▪   Liebestraum  -  F. Liszt

▪   Liebestod (from ‘Tristan und Isolde’)  -  Wagner-Liszt

▪   Impromptu in E-flat, op. 90 no. 2  -  F. Schubert

▪   Allegro de Concierto  -  E. Granados

▪   Hanggang sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan  -  G. Canseco/arr. R. Sunico

▪   Bato sa Buhangin  -  E. Cuenco/arr. R. Sunico

▪   Kundiman  -  F. de Leon

▪   Bayan Ko  -  C. de Guzman/arr. R. Sunico

The diplomatic corps in attendance was astounded by Mr. Sunico’s magnificent  performance. Members of the community and local society also expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the opportunity to witness the concert, stating that “it was an impeccable performance and an unforgettable experience.” END.
