PH Consulate General in Chongqing, Yuzhong District Foreign Affairs Office Discuss Closer Partnership

CHONGQING 19 June 2024 – Philippine Consul General Ivan Frank M. Olea met on 17 June 2024  with Ms. Ren Haiyan, Director General of the Yuzhong District Foreign Affairs Office (FAO) to discuss potential partnerships across various areas. 

As Consul General Olea has recently arrived in Chongqing, Director General Ren Haiyan provided an overview of Yuzhong District, particularly its economy and strategic priorities. Director General Ren emphasized the important role of Yuzhong District, being home to all consular missions in Chongqing, and expressed interest in further collaborating with the Consulate General on different programs. 

Consul General Olea conveyed his gratitude to the Yuzong District FAO for its continued support for the Consulate General’s programs in the District. He shared his insights on the Consulate General’s engagement with Yuzhong District and extended an invitation to the Yuzhong District officials for the upcoming Philippine Independence Day reception, which will be held in the District. 

Consul General Olea was joined by Vice Consul Adrain G. Miras, Cultural Officer, Arlene C. Pascasio-Racho and Post’s Interpreter, Timothy Wong. Mr. Zhang Xinghua, Deputy Director General, and Ms. Wang Ya, Section Chief of Yuzhong District FAO accompanied Director General Ren at the meeting. END
